Is it October already, that means it has been almost 4 months since we updated you last on what we have been up to in the Beane family! We want to give you a quick fly by of some things that have happened in the last 4 months. We have been settled into our home and Andrea and the kids are in a good rhythm with homeschool, although as you precious mothers who homeschool know, it has not been without challenges! But, I must quickly respond with the truth that God has been faithful to help us remember that faithfulness in the midst of difficulty is what pleases God. Andrea has once again been my hero (lower case h); day after day she serves our family with patience, joy and faith, mixed with tears, weakness and dependency. Most of what she does for our family will go unnoticed by me and others, but I must say this, the One that matters most, the One who sees every sacrifice, the One who sees in secret, and the One who accepts us not because of what we do, but because of what has been done in Christ, knows all about it and that’s all that truly matters. Well done my love!! It has been good to be back around friends and family that we have missed. We truly love North Carolina and are so excited to be staying in our home state. Between schooling the kids at home, homeschooling co-op, fun activities, CrossWay residency, and life in the Church…our life at the Beane home is pretty full right now.  While we are here in Charlotte we are trying to see as many friends and family as we can before relocating again to Wilmington. One of our desires has been to reach out to our neighbors who live right beside us (some right next to us and others not as close in proximity). It has been a joy spending time with them in order to just get to know them and we look forward to what may happen between us, please pray for us as we reach out to them in love.

 Provision & Praise

Aside from homeschool and family life, we love our church family at CrossWay Community Church, our elders, and the loving brothers and sisters that have so faithfully served us since we’ve gotten here. As I said in a previous post I have been blessed by a brother in Christ who has hired me to work two days a week with his company, the other three days are given to the residency I am participating in at Crossway. Joshua and I also have great news to share, up until two weeks ago we had been studying for our oral exams for ordination with Sovereign Grace Churches. From October 3-5 we attended our annual Pastors Conference, it was there that Joshua and I sat for the exam, and by Gods grace we passed and have been affirmed as elders with SGC, the only thing that needs to happen now is the ordination service that will be held at CrossWay sometime at the beginning of next year. I want to especially thank those of you who have prayed as Joshua and I have prepared for these exams, it has been a humbling experience that we are grateful to have been apart of.

Church Planting Co-Hort

Also Joshua had his first Co-hort in Philadelphia with other men who are also planting churches with Sovereign Grace. The Co-hort is Church Planting intensives that really get down into the nuts and bolts of why and how to plant healthy churches that last long and grow strong. My part in the Co-hort will be participating in monthly web-ex calls and learning from what Joshua was taught while there while prayerfully applying it to myself and our context in Wilmington. There are a total of 5 trips Joshua will be taking  to Philly this year and the next, each time dealing with a different component of church planting. I look forward to receiving the training from Joshua after each trip he makes.

Continuing Residency & Completing Prospectus

For the remainder of the residency Joshua and I will be traveling to Wilmington, other Sovereign Grace Churches to preach, observe ministries within those churches and prepare our prospectus for the church plant. A prospectus is simply a 6-10 page paper that in a concise way gives the important details of why we are planting in Wilmington and what it will look like when we do.

There is one bit of information that I’d like to share with you that involves a hearty commendation to a brother within CrossWay who has so graciously partnered with the church plant in Wilmington.   This dear brother owns a coffee roasting company, called Sugar Creek Coffee Roasters ( https://www.sugarcreekcoffee.com/). He has created a Two Guys Planting coffee blend, and anyone who purchases that specific blend can also join in helping fund the Sovereign Grace Wilmington church plant, 100% of the proceeds goes directly to a fund that will serve in getting the church plant off the ground. What a blessing! I must say, there is nothing like fresh roasted artisan coffee. If you would like to partner with us in this way, and enjoy great coffee visit the website and scroll through the different blends until you come to the Two Guys Planting blend, when paying for your product be sure to type TWOGUYSPLANTING so they’ll know that the proceeds go to the church plant.

Informational Meeting

Our next important step in this process will be our October 23rd informational meeting that we are having at Crossway Community Church at 7pm, childcare available. We want to invite all who are remotely interested in hearing and learning about church planting, there are no commitments being made here, we simply desire to share our stories of how the Lord led us to pursue church planting, there will be a short time of Q&A afterwards. We want to give you an opportunity (if the Lord leads you) to join Christ in building His church in Wilmington. The address to the church is 6400 Prosperity Church Road Charlotte, NC 28269.

Conclusion & Appeal

Friends and family, we would be amiss if we didn’t take the time to especially thank you for your prayers and financial support. This partnership goes much deeper than mere verbal commitments to ministry; we are united together as brothers and sisters through the shed blood of Christ. And when we think of you we yearn for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus. As we pray for you, we ask that you also pray for us, our weaknesses are evident but we know that it is in our weaknesses that Christ power is made perfect, so we rejoice, and we pray that you do as well! We are still in need of monthly or one-time financial partners, would you prayerfully consider donating $25 a month for a year? Aaron is only able to work 2 days a week, and although God has been faithful in providing, we are still in need of financial partners.  Again, thank you for your sacrificial service to Christ and your example of faith.

Prayer Points:

  • That our marriages be a living example of the gospel (Eph. 5:22-33)
  • That Joshua and I remember that our home is the primary ministry that God has given us (Eph. 6:4)
  • That Joshua and I make every effort to keep the unity between us in the bond of peace, with humility, gentleness, and patience (Eph. 4:1-3
  • That the elders at Crossway be given much wisdom to steward all that God has given them (1 Peter 5:2-3)
  • The fields are white for harvest, we are praying for labors to come with us. (maybe that could be you) Mt. 9:35-38)
  • That God would supply us with wisdom and discernment as we put together the Prospectus, and all that entails. (James 1:5, Prov. 2:6)
  • That above all things, God be glorified in saving the lost, and the strengthening of His church. (Is 43:7)
  • That God would continue to provide for our financial needs. (Phil 4:19)
