July 2017 Update

It’s hard to believe that I (Aaron) am writing this, it seems like yesterday that we were packing our Uhaul, saying by to those we love and making our way to Louisville to begin the adventure of preparation for pastoral ministry and church planting.  It has been an experience we will never forget, and one that God will use to serve us for the rest of our lives personally and ministerially.

April 2017 Update

Heartfelt Gratefulness

Family and friends, for the first time in quite a while we have had the chance to come up for some air in order to write an update. Our time here in Louisville has been a tremendous blessing and learning experience that will serve us for the rest of our lives.  And we want you to know that we could not have done this without your prayers, encouragement and support.  Many of you have sacrificed your time and your financial resources in order to partner with us in the gospel (Phil. 1:5), and when Andrea and I think of all of this our hearts are filled with joy (Phil. 1:4).  We have been overwhelmed with how God has provided for us this far, and we are confident that He will continue to do so into the future.  Continue reading “April 2017 Update”

A Birthday to Celebrate

I am so excited to write this post. Not because I think it will be some amazing, awe-inspiring post but because I truly believe it will bless my husband and speak to his heart in a love language he speaks and receives (and make him squirm a bit because it’s about him—humble yourself and receive it Aaron, lol). It’s significant because words are not necessarily the language of my love so I’m sure it will catch him off guard, especially coming out of a time of difficulty in my own personal life which has made it difficult for me to love the way I want to love.

What’s Happening Now?

photo-3

(Cousin love before we go!)

It has been a while since we updated you and we really wanted to let you all know where we are in our journey towards church planting and the preparation leading up to it. Before I go into any of that we want to thank you for your prayers. We truly believe that your prayers and the faithfulness of God has helped keep our eyes on what really matters during a time of so much transition and uncertainty. The care and generosity of our brothers and sisters in Christ has overwhelmed us with thankfulness to God and given us such a greater appreciation for the Body of Christ, some of which we have never even met face to face yet. We want to thank those of you who have invested financially, whether you gave a one-time gift or have committed to monthly giving. We would not be able to do this without your support. Bit by Bit: A Plan Revealed

open book image

Okay. This is surreal. I am sitting in Panera by myself. Stealing away a short time to finally put into words, as best I can, what I have wanted to share for two weeks! I enjoy writing, always have. I’m not a great writer. And if you are a member of the grammar police, whom I love and appreciate dearly, prepare to twitch your way through this post. I don’t write to be the best or to be something in someone’s eyes. I do it because I enjoy it and I love sharing about the goodness of God. I try to bring glory to God in it! The gift of time to write is sparse during this season of my life so the extra effort to get away and actually write is something I reserve for those times I feel compelled to write. Certainty

I (Andrea) have been asked more than a few times, “What do you think about all this?” The “this” I am referring to is a very uncertain, in some regards, direction for our family. One that includes quitting our jobs (and I LOVE my job!), selling our house in a neighborhood we enjoy, letting go of things that bring us comfort and security, saying goodbye to friends we hold dear to our hearts, and moving farther from our family who mean the world to us. All this as part of a process for Aaron to prepare and train for pastoral ministry and eventually, Lord willing, plant a church in a place that is lacking a gospel witness and to share Christ with those who may not know Him and to serve a people that want to know Him more. Preparation and Training

Sovereign Grace Pastors College

Hey family and friends, aside from our initial newsletter, I (Aaron) wanted to share more with you about the Pastors College (PC), what it is, why I believe it’s right for my family, and ultimately how I believe God will use it in Pastoral Ministry in the future.  But, before I share, I want to take a minute and tell you how much I appreciate your willingness to stop by and visit our blog.  We are honored that you have taken an interest in what God is doing in our lives and are excited to see what He is going to do through us “striving together for the hope of the Gospel” in the near future. Go Therefore!

BeanFINALS-0010

Hello family and friends! We are very excited to share with you what God has been doing in our lives recently. Andrea and I have been so grateful for God’s saving grace and His sanctifying work in our hearts. Truly, without His grace, we would be nothing. He has led us from darkness into His glorious light, and we are indebted that He would call us His own. He has been faithful to strengthen our hearts in correction, love, instruction, and hope. He gave us a church home to call ‘family’, and a place to learn and grow in His love. The faithful preaching of God’s Word, loving care of the pastoral staff of Central Church, and the encouragement and friendship extended to us has impacted our hearts personally, professionally, eternally, and purposefully.
