July 2017 Update

It’s hard to believe that I (Aaron) am writing this, it seems like yesterday that we were packing our Uhaul, saying by to those we love and making our way to Louisville to begin the adventure of preparation for pastoral ministry and church planting.  It has been an experience we will never forget, and one that God will use to serve us for the rest of our lives personally and ministerially.

Testimony at SGCL

Aaron and I had the wonderful privilege of sharing our short version testimony with Sovereign Grace Church of Louisville last month. What an honor to tell of what Christ has done! Never would we have written our story the way He has…but thank God He is the author, a much better one than us!

October Update

pc-class-of-2017

Friends and family, it has been too long since the last time we touched base, but there is good reason for this.  The last two months have been full of Andrea and I getting acclimated with Louisville itself, Andrea meshing out what it looks like to be home all day with two wonderfully rambunctious children, and then me getting thrown into the furnace of the Pastors College.  All of this, needless to say has served to show us our need to rest in all that Christ has done for us, and also the way that the body of Christ is meant to be a place in which we confess our sins and point each other over and over again back to the truths of the gospel.  What I would like to do in this post is simply give some commentary as to what my days and weeks look like here at the Pastors College.  But, before I do that, I have to tell you that the Pastors and the members here at this church have been an example of servants and a model to look to for future Pastoral Ministry, and servant hood.  The theme that resounds over and over again is, the Gospel, the good news about all that God has done for us in Christ to rescue us from Gods wrath and redeem us through His blood, adopting us into His family and how this message informs everything we do as children of God from parenting to our vocation, all for His name sake.

July Update

hand-226358_1280

Hey brothers and sisters, I wanted to post a special note sharing how God has provided for my full tuition through our partners.  With this goal met I have secured a position in the 2016-17 class of the Sovereign Grace Pastors College starting in just less than a month!  God has been so gracious to our family. As we have stepped out in faith, He has met us time and again with His sufficient grace to supply all our needs according to His riches in Christ Jesus.  We have not found material riches, but we have seen that Christ righteousness has truly made us rich, and with each earthly tie loosed we sense we have a “hope which is the anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters into the inner place behind the curtain” (Hebrews 6:19).  From small blessings to large blessings, we have seen the traces of His providence in the way He has orchestrated these moments to happen.   Continue reading “July Update”

What’s Happening Now?

(Cousin love before we go!)

It has been a while since we updated you and we really wanted to let you all know where we are in our journey towards church planting and the preparation leading up to it. Before I go into any of that we want to thank you for your prayers. We truly believe that your prayers and the faithfulness of God has helped keep our eyes on what really matters during a time of so much transition and uncertainty. The care and generosity of our brothers and sisters in Christ has overwhelmed us with thankfulness to God and given us such a greater appreciation for the Body of Christ, some of which we have never even met face to face yet. We want to thank those of you who have invested financially, whether you gave a one-time gift or have committed to monthly giving. We would not be able to do this without your support. Sovereign Grace Pastors College

Hey family and friends, aside from our initial newsletter, I (Aaron) wanted to share more with you about the Pastors College (PC), what it is, why I believe it’s right for my family, and ultimately how I believe God will use it in Pastoral Ministry in the future.  But, before I share, I want to take a minute and tell you how much I appreciate your willingness to stop by and visit our blog.  We are honored that you have taken an interest in what God is doing in our lives and are excited to see what He is going to do through us “striving together for the hope of the Gospel” in the near future.
